of appetite in•the Spring r is not the B:ftluptor or
the effect of disease; it. is is it were, the wise
forethought of a shirplesS instinct, which puts out
its blind fearless - ftheatilb Clear away danger.—
Instinct, that wontlerftil, hanalpable thing, the
agent of Almighty poirer, the instrument of lore
Divine ; its lesson is, that the botry does not rc•
quire so much food, hence the desire for it is tak
en away ; and if soon could only be. induced to
rend that lesson aright, to practise it by simply .
eating according to the appetite, by not going to
the table if they did not "feel like eating any-
thing," and then resolutely waiting until the nest
meal, and at me time eating an atom unless there
was a decided 'desire for it--if such a conrse were
judiciously pursued, the springtime would be *to
us a wakoing up to newness of life as it is to the
vegetable world. But instead of thus co-opera - -

good for "whetting up the appetite." It acts like
a charm; wo speak Jondly in its praise, and a doz

wake up a little later to tied her ward prostrated

ness. To avoid spring diseases, then abate the
amount of food eaten at leant one-third, and work
or exercise with a proportionate deliberation.
