Mrs. Mumford, whose husband cut
down tho Stars and Stripos in New
Orleans, is now in the Treasury De
partment at $1,200 per annum, through
the influence of Senator Morton and
Colonel Mosby. Wm. M. Catlin, Ma
jor and Quartermaster In an Alabama
Regiment, is now in the General Land
OOlce, receiving $1,000 per annum,
through the influence of General Hub.

Y. Mosby, a brothor of Col. John S.

war, was appointed by Goneral Grant,
