been to certify that M r. Geisz, Repub
lican, was elected to tho Legislature
instead of Mr. Forsyth, who hud tho
inajorily. No one with common
sen so will helievo that tho election
ollicer was ignorant of the fact that
Geisz was defeated. In that case, by
prompt action, the fraud wts prevent
ed, and Mr. Forsyth received his
certificate. Ono of tho effects of the
Registry law, wo wero told, would bo
to create an honest class of election
officers, appointed by the Hoard of
Aldermen. In no case heretofore in
this city have there been suit) glaring
