tidviee 4o Church Goers.
To preach -to church' members who 'do
not observe the most Common - rules,of pro
-.priety of the house of God, is rowing against
a poWerful Current. ...Nor do I believe that
-any Minister who comprehends the decency
and order that belongs to Christian worship
can. drive ,onward: with his .discourse:re
gardless of whispering within or bOisterous
"talk without..
,In -many cases, think, .it,
7 -would be better to dismiss the congrega
tion than, to• proceed wild - Nl-orshiPiamid
these gross, inconsistencies of' conduct. A
'calm disrnissal et the audience, with a:pro
per explanation of the procedure, would
perhaps, be—the -most
: impressive - and
effectual,rebuke.
"."Everintieinber of the church should be,
in 1115 or her:seat before the hour of service.
It 'is n pitiful - sceneto see half a dozen
members walking up the 'aisle just as - the
minister says, '' , Let.us pray," or just at the
moment he announces his text. No per
son can enter the house of God; during ser
vice, without producing more or less dis
turbance. That-the best of persons will
sometimes be late afehurch I do mot deny ;
buteertainly it is a strange fatality against
a man that neVer peimits'hirosolf - to get to
the house of the Lord at the appOinted hour.
• The heavy step with which thoughtless
persons enter the house and tramp along
the aisles is very unbecoming, as well as
disturbing to the quiet of the'cengregation.
The common habit of looking • over the
as if trying-to spy out • a long
absent friend, or as if expecting some one
to stalk into the house who - had risen 'from
the dead, is most unbecoming indeed. No'
'one can worship his... Maker - :truly,. sincere
ly and acceptably,Who IS thus gazing about,
and permitting the mind to' be occupied
with Wandering and frivolous thoughts. -
A respectful. attention tb the sermon ; sit
ting quietly and becomingly in our seats
during divine service, contribute greatly to
the liberty of the minister, and the good ef- - ,
'feet of 'his sermon., Moreover; it is an,
evidence to the congregation' of the sincerity
and genuineness of our profession., It tende
'strongly to satisfYthern , that religiOn is a ,
reality; thatit makes men not_ only love
God, but-to observe' due respect for tbe
sanctuary, and:also the ceremonies of re
elisions woMid*—Chure/i,Advocate.
_ Wewouldalso add that beating time on
the floor with the- foot, - drumming on the
pests with the fingers, and upsetting Aim
foot-steps, with a continual coughing, is
not less annoying, and should- be avoided
if possible, tudess - those who indulge' in
such amusement prefer it to the comfort
and wishes Of those wife go to church it,

Bitters, Cordials, Stonnichies, which, for
`the most part, - are nothing but so many dis
guises assumed by' whisky, and as for the
•most part composed of the major portion of
the very vilest quality of that article, tie-,
vored with some strong, drugs to destroy
the nausea of - the same, in order to tickle.
the palate, minister to a depraved taste and
afford a plausible excuse. for persons to
'drink whisky under a different name. ..
Mishlor's Herbßitters has been sold in
bulk. In this particular it has been 'unfor- '
tunate, for it had thus been placed 'direCtly
in contact with the above mentioned, and
although its intrinsic - merit and sterling
worth has enabled it to sustain its high
'character, yet UM - people have - naturallya
certain distrust of the 'article when, it is.
found to be classed Au the sane, category
with a number of whisky . preparations, bar

T his is the one great advantage against
which Misbler's , Herb Bitters has to

abusing the_contidenee of their customers,
injuring their health, and it is in
many instances, inflicting serious injury
thereby, besides doing injustice to the pro
prietors and -injuring the reputation of the
article. -
This is _OM - most serious objection, but

times fearfully . adulterated; while when
in bottles, it Is impossible to tamper with

of the wrist, but I did not consent. 1 was
unable to work for over a year, and having
a family, my former earnings were rapidly
disappearing ; I found that it as useless

as I was -notimproving, and by the .advice
of my friends went to Dr. Mishler and
commenced the use of the Herb Bitters,
both internally and externally. By the

was receiving benefit. 'Continuing, I still .
improved, 'my hand regained 'its power,

quite as strong'as formerly, but I am using
it at work, and it is steadily improving.
