Williams was chosen president, who stated the object of theldecting. W. Case made a few remarks in which he stated. that he would give One tlwuscuul dopers to the first company of one, hundred men to be raised in Columbia. This noble and patriotic offer should not go unheeded. If other busi ness men felt the same interest in the cause and welfare of the notion as does Mr. Case, we would have no trouble of raising troops in Columbia. We hope our town will keep up her former reputa tion in raising troops, and feral at least one company to be attached to the gallant Col. Fisher's Lancaster county regiment.
