EfOusekeepers and others interested in a reduction of the 'high prices of meat, are discussing that some way be adopted to bring- butthers down to reasonable buying terms. They recommend that the best plan..for all to pursue is to purchase only one-half their usual quantity of meat, and make up for it by eating other food, quite as nourish ing and less expensive. The family phys ician in many instances has been called upon. for an opinion, and decided that ani mal food of this season of the year was more injurious to the human system than the farinaceous and vegetable food that may be obtained at cheaper rates.--Ifar risburg Tel. All the while the town-plug kept crowing'that he was "bully from h—l." Although not disposed to favor or recom mend Patent M odici nes in general, through distrust of tl eir ingredients and efleeta, I yet know of uo sufficient reasons why a .man may not testify to the benefit" he be lieves himself to have receiiiod, from ,any simple preparation, in the hoper:trialt he may thus contribute to the bikent of at - ors. I do this more readily in regard to Hog lund's German Bitters, prepared by Dr. , C lit Jackson, this city, because I was ' prelu diced against them for many years, uner the impression . that they were chiefly an alcoholic rnilcture.
