For aide purposes of a Family Physic. 1181111 has long existed 'a public demand for ea effective purgative pill which could he re lit on as sttre and perfectly safe in its operation.— re lit This has been prepared to meet that demand, and an extensive trial of its virtues has conclusively shown with what success it accomplishes the purpose de signed. It Is easy to make a physical Pill, but not so easy to make the best of all Pills—one which should have none of the objecuona, but all tne advantages revery other. This has been attempted here, and with what success we would respectfully submit to the public decision. It has been unfOtteliete for the patient hitherto that almost every purgative medi cine is acrimonious and Irritating to the bowels.— This Is not. Many of them produce so much griping pain and revulsion in the system as to more than counterbalance the good to be derived from them.— Vbese Pills produce no irritation or pale, unless it 'arises from a previously existing obstruction or de. "rangenietit in the bowels. Being purely vegetable. 'no harm can arise from their use in any quantity, but tit is better that any medicine should be taken Judi •ciously. Minute directions for their use in the seve ral diseases to which they arc applicable arc given ...on the box. Among the complaints which have been - speedily cured by them we may mention Liver Corn *plaint, in Is various forms of Jaundice, Indigestion, /Langone and Loss of Appetite, Listlessness, Irrita 'Nifty, , Bilious Headache. Bilious Fever, Fever and Ague, Pain in the side and Loins; for in truth, all these are but the consequence of diseased action of Abe liver. As an apeneut, they afford prompt and sure relief in Costiveness, Piles, Colic, Dysentery, liumors. Scrofula and Scurvy, Colds with soreness ':tithe body, Ulcers and impurity of the blood; in :short t any and every case where a purgative is re quired. They have also produced some singularly success ful cures its Rheumatism. Gout. Dropsy, Gravel, Ery sipelas, Palpitation of the Heart, Pains in the Back :Stomach and Side. They purify the blood, and, by their stimulant action on the circulatory system, ren ovate the strength of the body, and restore the wasted and diseased energies of the whole organ in tn. The 'Thousand cases in which a physic is required cannot 'be enumerated here, but they suggest themselves to the reason of everybody; and ilk confidently believed this pill will answer a better purpose than anything which has hitherto been available to mankind.— When their virtues are once known, the public will no - longer doubt what remedy to employ when in need ot a cathartic medicine. Being sugar wrapped they are pleasant to take; and being purely vegetable, no harm can arise from their use in any quanuty. For minute directions, see the wrapper on the box. Prepared by ' - • DR. The undersigned, membe, of the committee, do respectfully report, that we saw tile two Safes origi nally agreed upon by Farrel & Herring, and Evans & Watson, placed side by tide in a furnace, viz: The Safe in use by the Paymaster of the Philadel phia and Reneing Railroad Company, in his office at Reading. manufactured by Farrel.* & Herring. and the Safe in use by H. A. Lantz, in his store. menu factored by Evans & Watson, and put in books pre cisely alike. The fire was started at SI o'clock A. M., and kept up until four cords of green hickory, two cords dry oak and half chestnut top wood were entirely con sumed, the whole under the superintendence of the subscribers, members of the committee. The Safes were then cooled off with wdter, after which they were opened . , and the books and papers taken out by the committee and sent to H. A. Lantz's store (or public examination, after they were first examined and marked by the Committee. The books and pa. pert taken from the Safe manufactured by Evans and Watson were but slightly affected by the Intense heat while those taken from the Safe manufactured by Ferrets Mid Herring were in our Judgment dam aged fully fifteen per cent. more than those taken from Evans & Watson's Safe.
