Lino of the Public Works. In puisuance of the
40th section of the net of the 18th May, 1:31.7, t. , provide
fur the ordinary expenses of governuarnt, the Board of
Canal Commissioners will hold se4sions at the follow ing
places, for the purpoze of Investigating and settling the
claims therein mentioned, via:

juuitita diaision; the debt; contracted by W. '1 . Wilson,
Supervisor 01 the Lower Jmnata division; the debts con
tracted, bat not reported, by John Boss, Soperintendent
of the Portage Railroad; and the debts reported by Wan.
S. Callahan, Superintendent of the said road. And - at
Johnstown on the 3d of August, for the put pose of exam
ining the aforesaid claims on the Portage Railroad, to
gether with those reported by J. 31. Orr, Supervisor on
the Lower Western Division.
LAND DAMAGES.—The Board trill proceed over the
Portage Railroad on the 31st of July, to examine the
claims for damages caused by the construction of the road
to avoid the inclined planes on the Allegheny Portage
railroad. The claimants are reques4cd to meet the Board
on the land fur which they claim damages.

precept tome directed, dated at Huntingdon. the 123 th
day of April, A. D. 1537, under the hands and seals of
the lion. deorge Taylor, President of the Court of Common
Pleas, Oyer and Terminer. and general jail delivery of the
:2-Rh:judicial district of Pennsylvania, composed of lion
timkin. Blair and Cambria; and the lions. Benjamin F.
Patton and John Brewster, his associates, Judges of
the county of Huntingdon, justices assigned, appointed to
hear, try and determine all and every indictments made or
talon for or concerning all crimes, which by the laws of
the State are made capitol, or felonies of death, and other
curene,s, crimes and misdemeanors, which have been or
cftall hereafter he committed or perpetrated for crimes
aforesaid-1 am commandeirto make public prodamatiun
throughout my whole bailiwick, that a Court of Oyer and
Terminer, of Common Pleas and Quarter Sessions, wilt be
held at the Court House in the borough of Huntingdon, on
the second Monday (and ltlth clay) of August next, and
those who will prosecute the said prisoners be then and
there to prosecute them its it shall be just, and that all
Justices of the Peace, Coroner and Constables within said
county be then and there in their proper persons, at 10 o- clock. a in., of said day, with their records, inquisitions,
examinations and remembrances, to do those things which
to their eflices respectively appertain.

notice, and having made arrangements with a good work

ues to run a tri-weekly line of stages over the road between

the Coaches. The proprietor of the line is desirous that it
be maintained. and he therefore earnestly calls upon the
public generally to patronise it, confident that it will be

will be given, and the running of the stages will be regu

their new mill in running order, with all the modern hu
provements in the Water Wheels and Machinery.
They have put in live of the Improved Jouval Turbine
Water Wheels, and can grind in all stages of water, and
during the coldest weather any and all kinds of grain.
They are pi epared to sell, and have on hand for sale at
all times at Minket tales all kinds of Flour, Feed, and
rztuffs ; and Fartams can have their own grain ground and
take it back in a return load, or they can be furnished in
exchange at a moment's notice, an equal quantity of Flour
and Dram or chopped feed.
Their ,nint machine is of improved manufacture, and
