On Saturday la.st while Mr. JOHN Bnorow of East Berlin was re pairing lenctis on his farm, - he left his fine four-horse team standing in the'road, hitch ed to a wagon loaded with rails. One of the horses slipped his bridle, and started to run, taking with him the team at full speed.— They were stopped near Hildebrand's tan yard at the Berlin bridge. Two of the horses fell, and one of them Waif much injured. .As DANIEL SMrru of Latimore township was taking his horses, on Monday of last week, out to plough, they ran oil. After be ing caught, he undertook to ride ono and lead the other home; and when at full speed, both the horses fell upon hitt and seriously injured him. Fitzhugh Lee, in 1863, a conical shell struck the house of William Bentz, but did not ex plode. This missile, after having been pre served as a memento for several years, was thrown aside, and ultimately found its way into the coal bin. On - Monday last, the shell, without being observed was shoveled iiito a bucket of coal and thence carried to the cook stove where the Contents of the bucket were thrown upon the fire.. For more than a quarter of an hour after this Mrs. B. and her, daughter were about the stove preparing din ner, and they had Just stepped into another room when a most terrific explosion occur red, shaking the houir to its foundation.
