The leading claims to public conelderation which the
Now American Cyclopeedia possesses may be thus briefly
stated;
"1. It surpluses all other works in the fulness and
ability of the articles relating to the. United Staten.
2. No other work contains so many reliable biogra

this respect it is far superior even to the more bulky
Encyclopaedia aritannica.
"3. The bast minds in this country have been employ
ed in enriching its pages with the latest data. and the
most recent discoveries In every branch of manufactures,
mechanic!, and general science.
"4. It is a library in itself, Where every topic is treat

It is neatly printed, with readable type, on good

A Cyclopedia is preeminently the work for our coun

which would strike at the root of diseise.and so pre.

This great question was presented to his mind every
day in vivideolors as he moved among the sick caddying,
and observed the inefficiency of nearly all the remedies

discovered it. His name was placed upon the Roll of
Nobles, and a gold medal with the following inscription

to him by the Viceroy.
The preparation has b6en used in several epidemics of
cholera, both as a preventive and curative measure, and
with such great success, that it has been introduced into
nearly all the general bospitale of the old world.

BRINKERHOFF'S
CORN SHELLER, SEPARATOR
AND CLEANER.
The anderigned would inform the Agricultural
public that he has purchased from the Patentie of
this extraordinary machine, the Patent-Eight for
the States of Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Brinkerhoff's Corn Sheller, Separator and Clean
er, is pronounced the best machine of the kind in
this country. And in proof, it may be mentioned
that the "Advisory Committee appointed to select
Implements for exhibition at the Universal Ex
position in Par is, in 1867, have selected this
Sheller as the best in America," and at the request
of J. C. Derby, U. B... Agent, a machine has been
shipped to Paris for exhibition. One important
feature in this machine is that it will shell ears
large, small or erooked, perfectly clean, and
separates the cob and chaff from the Corn ready
for market.'
The fact may also be stated that at the great
trial of Agritmltural Implements, at Auburn, N.
Y., in July last, under the auspices of the New
York State Agrionitural Satiety, the Brinkerhoff
Corn Sheller, Separator and Cleaner was reported
by one of ate most conipetent Committees as the
best Corn Sheller out. They say, "We have care
folly examined and thoroughly tested this ma
chine, and have no hesitation in pronouncing it
the best airs effiwiier we ever aaw." The re
pert le signed by rush men as John Stanton flould,
