Death of Mrs. D, W. Bradford, ¢ Mire, Carrie Bradford, wife of D. W. Bradford, passed peacefully away at her home in Centre Hall on Monday afterncon at ope o'clock. The an- nouncement of her death was received with profound sorrow by her many friends in this locality, where ehe spent her entire life. Mre, Bradford had not been in good health for sever- al yeare, and four weeks preceding her death was compelled to take her bed, suffering with liver trouble apd can- cer. Although she put forth a brave fight she continued to grow weaker, her friende, in the last week of her ill- nese, abandoning all hopes of her re- covery. Friday preceding her death she lapsed into a state of coma from which she never rallied. Deceased was Carrie May Lawyer, daughter of Jobn and Margaret Barb- er Lawyer, deceased, BRhe was born st Centre Hill, July 10, 1868, making her sge forty-nine years and nearly eleven monthe, Bhe was a consistent mem- ber of 8t, Luke's Evangelical Luther- an church, Bhe was a member of Progress Grange and for many years gave her best efforts toward the up- building of the organization. Bhe will be greatly mieeed in Grange work, for she was ever ready to do her part, and more, in the various Grange activities, As treasurer of the lecsl W, CO. T. U. ghe filled that office with eredit to her- pelf and was an earnest worker in the temperance caus, Mre, Bradford was a woman of beautiful diepositior and temperament and conscquently made lasting friends very readily. Her loss is sircerely mourned by many. Her husband, a balf brother, Will- jam Lawyer, of 8t, Louis, Mo., and a half sister, Mre, Clement Hemphill, of Philadelphia, surviv-, Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, at the Bradford home, and burial will be made st Centre Hall, Rev.
