During an electric storm last Thurs day two cows were struck by lightning. The one owred by M. B. Musser, in the Branch, is recovering, but the one owned by Isa Gates died. J. P. David Powley, while visiting his brother, Dr. Powley, at Altoona, soon after his arrival was smitten with appendicitis and taken to the Mercy hospital for an operation on Saturday. J.
