Bince it was a wet, cold day, instead of winding the pole on the green 88 had been planned, the girls wound an improvised pole under shelter, and a nice warm room. Each one bad a May basket with flowers and vari-colored streamers as they wound in and out during the pretty drill made the onlookers feel ae If they were in a garden instead of a house. A very interesting program wae ren- dered, and refreshments enjoyed. The motheis were guests of the girls at this party. Between forty and fifty folks took a “Hobo Hike” on the moonlight evening of inst week, winding up at State College Y. W, O, A. What remains must be held over for next year’s planting. Applications for free seedling this spring will total about 1,600,000 trees, Water companies alone have planted almost 500,000. Many applications bave been received during the past week which could not be granted bes cause the supply of the species requests od was exhausted.
