Mrs, Rhone is an aunt of Mrs. Homan's, Harry McClenahsn, a young farmer who began operations on the Bruse farm last epring, had a heavy finan- cial loss when one of the two mares he purchased at the Peachy-Yoder horse sale died a few days ago. The animal became ill with colic, and the usual ~ remedies and the skill of a veterinarian failed to bring favorable results, Mr. and Mrs, C. A. Mitterling and two children of Chicago arrived in Centre Hall Tuesday forenoon and will spend several weeks at the home of Mr, Mitterling'a parents, Mr. and Mra J. W. Mitterling. Wondering how Centre Hall looked after such a period of years, Mr. and Mrs, Shaffer turned their sutomobile this direction, and on arriving here were entertained by Mr, and Mrs. Krape. When Mra. Bhafler, whose maiden name was Lytle, was a young girl-~this was back in 1880—ahe lived in Centre Hsll, making ber home with Dr. P. Neff, and consequently has a recollection of Centre Hail when it was a town of much less note, Colyer. Dr. Henry Hersey Mothersbaugh died at his bome in Alloons, Batur- day morning, August lst. He had been in poor health for three or four vears, suflering with Bright's disease. He was born at Hollidaysburg January 20, 1841, making his age seventy-three years, six months snd eleven days His parents were Daniel and Elinore Mothersbsugh. Later the family moved to Centre county, living for some time on the Branch and the SBparr farm southwest of Boalsburg, moving from there to Boalsburg. While living at Boalsburg he read medicine with Dr. C. WW, P. Fisher.
