Heberling, of Pine Grove Mills, a soldier of the civil war, answered the last roll call on the Zod iostance, after a long iliness of heart trouble, He was past seventy-two years of age, and is survived by a widow and one daughter, Estella, and two sous, J. B. aad Prof. M. E. Heberling, also four brothers and three sisters. He was a charter mem- ber of No, 276 1. O. O. F., also of Post NO. 272. He served over four years in the war and for a time was a prisoner in Libby. A A" A A A ————— The Fourth, Penns Valley celebrated the Fourth at Spriog Mills, and had s joyful time, The occasion was an anniversary cele bration of the local order of Odd Fel- lows, and a festival in the evening by the Rebekahs. Addresses were made by Capt. H. 8, Taylor and Dr. 8B. E Gobble. The gathering was a success in every way, and demonstrates that Spring Mills can do things. A ———— Struck by Lightning, The Lutheran church spire at Madisonburg was struck by lightning during a thunder storm on July 4th, The spire was damaged to some ex- teut, but the main ediflce was not in- jured.
