THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1910 a————— Ca DEATHS, Reuben Clair Douty, of near Logan- ton, and son of Elmer Douty, died In the Lock Haven Hospital, Monday evening of last week, of typhoid fever, The young man had been ill for some time before being taken to the hospi: tal ten days previous to his death, He was aged twenty-six years, and leaves a wife and three small children. The remains were taken to Loganton, The funeral took place Thursday fore poon, the services being conducted in the Ureenburr church by Rev, Ralph Smith, George Douty, a brother of the deceased’ 1s also critieally ill at his home with typhoid fever, Both young men contracted the disease while working on a saw mill — — ® Mrs. Elizabeth Dunn, the oldest person in Clinton county, died on Great Island, at the age of ninety-nine years, Bhe was the widow of the late Judge William Dunn. Bhe was born in Nippenose Valley, and her maiden name was Nancy Barker, Mrs. Dunn was a remarkably well preserved and intelligent old lady. She had a remarksble memory and was full of anecdotes and incidents of that vicinity dealing with the wilder- nees, with the wolves and the Indians, and the founding of Lock Haven, Mrs. Maris Dick Rhoads, widow of the late Judge Daniel Rhoads, died at her home in Bellefonte, Tuesday after- noon of last week. Bhe was born ip 1889, at Mt, Carmel, Illinois, and was the daughter of Edwin Smith, Bhe married Mr. Rhoads in 1861, and since that time lived in Bellefonte. Fourth Crop of Allaifs, Last week the fourth crop of alfalfa was harvested from a plat of eight sud three-eighths acres, owned by the writer. The first crop yielded four two-horss loads, the second and third three loads, and the fomnrth crop lwo loads, or a total of twelve loads, which will equal between fourteen and fifteen tons of dry hay. Another plat of three and three elghths acres, seeded in August of last year, yielded eight two-horse loads, equal to between nine and ten tons of dry hay. Comings, Farmers are nearly all through with their corn cutting and are now busy with their clover seed, Tusseyville. After being obliged to remain in doors for about two years, on account of poor health, Mrs. Mary Long Is again able to attend church and visit among her friends, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Diller spent several days last week at this place, visiting Mm. May Fortney, and Mr, and Mrs, James Hpaogler, Mr. re. Joseph K. Bitner, of Farmers Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Bamuel Bitoner, sud Mr. and Mrs. Banta, of Nebraska, spent Wednesday of last week very delightfully at the home of William Bitner and family, Mes.
