The ship- ment consisted of over twenty-five tons and was sent to Germany. boxes sss ff — Fight Mountain Fire The men employed by the Linden Hall Lumber Company were called on Saturday night to fight the mountain fire that was encroaching upon the large quantity of peeled bark and tim- ber along Laurel Run belonging to that Company. The men responded and worked daring the entire night and until late Sunday morning, when the valuable property was deemed safe. Later in the day a light shower of rain completely extinguished the flames. The fire did great damage to timber in parts of the Company ’s tract. Ps fi ————— A Veeuliar Accident The Spring Mills Correspondent gives the fact of a peculiar accident thus: Miss Anna Corman, daughter of Andrew Corman, met with a very serious accident last Thursday even- ing, which may result in the loss of an eye. Ip endeavoring to obtain an article from an upper shelf in the store, her arm came in contact with a hanging sign of about a foot square, knocking it down ; a corner of which cut her in the eye.
