Samuel Ard has so far recovered from his recent spell of sickness that he is able to walk down town with the aid of a cane. Miss Bertha Young was off on a few weeks visit to her sister who lives near Woodward. The picnic on Saturday in point o numbers and sociability was a grand success. Early in the morning dark, ominous clouds overhung the sky, which threatened to spoil the day's festivities, but soon the sun smiled on old mother earth and dispelled the clouds. Crowds about ten o'clock and in less than an hour the grove was full of hungry peo- ple waiting for the good things hid- den in the enormous baskets that were so conspicuous everywhere.
