ue ol ae COBURN, A Large Force of Men at Work Repair- ing Roads, Mr. G. Hagg, of Bellefonte, business at this place on Tuesday. John P. Condo, of Spring Mills, was in town on Monday on a double mis- sion; that of selling groceries for a leading firm of Philadelphia, and building political fences. If elected, he would no doubt make a good Sher- ifr. Andrew Harter had business in Cen- tre Hall on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Supervisor Emanuel Kerstetter, with a large force of workmen is re- pairing the roads of Penn township this week, H. C. Kulp received his furniture and household goods last week one day and moved into William Walker's house, vacated on the first of April by Charles Reber. Howard is now nice- ly domiciled. After spending a few weeks at home Miss Lizzie Kerstetter has again re- turned to Lewisburg. If a profusion of flowers is a good in- dieation, there will be an abundance of fruit this season throughout this section. —————— i — AY] oes mS SPRING MILLS. had William Pealer Appointed Postmaster for a Second Term, Mr. George Sheesely has his saw mill in operation now, and J. K. Sny- der will put in another mill along Sinking Creek in about a week. The child belonging to Ivy W. Bart- ges was buried last Tuesday over at the Lutheran cemetery. The Epworth League held quite an interesting service last Tuesday even- ing it being literary evening. The question for debate was, Resolved, that the Christian churches should be united. Their next meeting will be a festival ort Decoration Day. Mr. D. H. Ruhl returned from Pitts- burg last Friday well pleased with his stay in the smoky city. Old Grover did not stick to his new rule about appointing a new man to office. The postoffice department has appointed William Pealer for the Spring Mills office. Mr. Pealer was our postmaster before and gave very general satisfaction, and will undoubt- edly do so again. The boys and girls over at the Du- phony house have started a gymnasi- um where they practice in the manly art every night. tiem Who Would You Be 7 An exchange recently asked a ques tion which it invited all of its women readers to answer, The question was: “If you were not yourself, whom would you most like to be ?”’ The re- sult was very curious, Out of 3260 ans- wers, 2068 said they would most like to be Mrs. Cleveland, 300 thought baby Ruth would be the most pleasant and the remainder divided between Queen Victoria, Mes.
