Yesterday and the day before we

Jat a Y oond article, giving an account
of the excitement in Rocl ester, and
elsewhere, caused by Dr, Henion's
statement. It is doubtful if any two
articles were ever published which
gaused greater commotion both among
professionals and laymen,
Since the publication of these iwo
articles, naving been besieged with let-
ters ot inquiry, we sent a communica-
tion to Dr, Henion and also to H. H,
Warner & Co., asking if any additional
proof could be given, and here it is:
Gextremey: 1 owe my life and pres-
ent health whoily to the power of
Warner's Safe Cure, which snatched me
from the very brink of the grave. It is
pot surprising that people should ques-
tion the statement I made (which is true
in every respect) for my recovery was
ss great a marvel 0 myself, as to my
physicians, aud friends. * * *

have been published unless strictly so,

FACET A,
A x old farmer had business in a sash,
door and blind shop in Elmira the oth-
er day, and his son, a boy of 16, who
had never seen much of the elephant,
went in with hum, Realizing that “he
must have some curiosity in regard to
the machinery, the old man observed:
“Now, Heary, this 1s a plaper, and it
isn't running; that is a jig saw, and it
isn't under motion; over there 18 a rip
saw, and she isn’t ripping; here 1s a
buzz saw, and it is going. You hear
me Henry! this ere buzz saw is going.”
“All right, dad” was the response,
and the boy was lsft {0 look around
while the old man went upstairs,
When he came down five minutes
ater, Henry was dancing around as if
he had tacks in his boots, and about an
inch of one of his fingers was lying in
the sawdust,
“What is it?" shouted the old man.
“Finger off!” howled the boy.
“*You infernal pumpkin-head, didn’t
I tell you that buzz saw was gomg?”’
“Yes, dad, but where was she going
to? You den’t tell me that!”

“TAT was a bad accident on your
road yesterday.’ he said to the FPres-
ident of a Southern railroad corporation,
“How?”
“Why, seven or eight people were
xilled!”

sort did happen, Lucky for us, though,

Her heart stood still.
“How beautiful,” she murmured as
she took up the box. ‘How simple
and poetic a way of asking me to be his

kissed the bluish paper and tenderly un-

A MAN Who V was trying to make a
sadly worn dress coat and a pair of
frayed-out cuffs bold him up against
the blizzard, the other day, got a bad
fall in crossing Union Square, When
he picked himself up, he looked over
the ground so carefully that a pedestrian
halted and asked:
“Did you lose anything?”
“I'm looking for a dollar bill,’
the reply.
“Sure you dropped it?”
“Oh, no; but I'm certain that if there
was one anywhere about my clothes,
that jar must have shaken it out where
I can lay hands on iti"
AFTER all, there 18 nothing more ad-
mirable in a public man than the cour-
age of his religion convictions and prac-
tices. There was an excellent alder-
man from East Boston for instance,
now unfortunately an alderman no
more, who remarked once in the pres.
ence of his fellow members of the city
government: “Every night I get down
on my knees and say my little prayer.
I don’t care a——who sees me!”
