They always select their goods with a view to the season of the year, so as to serve the health and comfort of their many customers. In this regard many grocers are careless, and keep goods prepared for a special season of the year and offer it in as well as ont of season. Sechlers always keep the best of everything. —Look bere girls—and old maids.— An Jowa paper claims that the supply of marriageable girls there is not equal to the demand, as there are two men to one woman in that state. The paper sends the following mail to the other states: “Send along your sisters, and your cousins, and your aunts, Remember we want none of your scrawny, wasp- waisted, squint-eyed, cosmetic-washed, freckle-faced, but healthy, handsome, wide-awake, go-ahead girls, who have been permitted to grow up as the Lord made them.” —Men of all nationalities, of all tongues, of all #zes, of all shapes, of all dispositions, of all religious creeds, of all occupations, rich, poor or otherwise, can always be suited in suits at the Philad. These goods are manufactured by ladies who have made the wants of ladies and children a study, and they ask us to refer them to some reliable and energetic lady to introduce them in this county, and we certainly think that an earnest solicitation in ev- ery housebold would meet with a ready response, and that a determined woman could make a handsome salary and have the exclusive agency of this county. We advise some lady who is in need of em- ployment to send to the Company her name and address, and mention this pa- par. Milesvurg had its ceremonies on Sat irday, in order that the Post, G. A. R, might attend the Decoration at Belle fonte on Monday, At Sprucetown the lav was fittingly observed in the after noon, and an address delivered by Col D. H. Hastings. Intheevening the cer emonies took place at Centre Hall, The cemetery had been set in order and the raves of soldiers freshened with new earth, and evergreens, and a floral mon iment erected in honor of the fallen ones whose bodies rest in other parts, The four Sabbath schools formed in line it the lawer end of town, and followed by citizens marched to the cemetery, neaded by the veteran club of Potter areceded by the brass band, with Col \. Gregg, a8 chief marshal. After the fdowers were strewn upon the graves Col. Hastings delivered an address. He poke about halfan hour, but his utter wnces were rich in fine thought and sen- iment. We are gratified to see this evidence of the appreciation of the Re- PORTER As an advertising medium by business men, both in and outside the county. and further we are pleased to be informed by such that they find it pays to advertise in the RErokTER, and that its terms are so fair, The verdict of all purchasers is that Wolf's old stand keeps ahead, as of old, for good goods, There is not a more complete assortment in the valley, he makes his selections with the greatest care and with a view to the wants of the people. All this I am doing at presetn, as many of my friends know. It will pay you to come 15 or 18 miles to my store, as a number of my customers are doing. I ask your attention to my adv’s in to~day’s paper and supplement.
