Last Saturday Miss Mamie Holman of
Lock Haven, aged about eighteen, it sup
posed to have died from hexrl desease. Af
ter she bad ceased to breathe it was ob
served that her body did not get stiff. On
Thursday no ihange was perceptible. Al
though the friends have hopes that it may
be a case of suspended animation the doc
tor* stay she is dead. The body has not
bean interred at last accounts.
A few nights ago while John y. Welsh
ar.d wife wre sitting in their house be
tween North Point and Renovo they no
ticed a fellow looking int* the kitchen
window. He was ordered away, when he
placed himself at a front window and sub
sequently tried to break in the door. He
reappeared at the rear ot the house and re
peated his mischief. Mr. Welsh fired a re
volver at the fellow, but lie did nut seem
to mind it. A son of Mr. Welsh then fired
a shot gun at him, and the fellow rolled
over muttered something religious and
crawled away. There were blood stain*
where he had stood, showing that he was
wounded. Nothing hat been seen of the
man since.

Mitchell trustees, executed and delivered
a deed in full for the Sunbury and Lewis
town Railroad, with all its frinch.se* and
privileges, to Aaron Fries, who was select
ed by the purchasers to represent thetn as
grantee. The road is now in possession of
its owner, and a meeting is called to be
held in Philadelphia, on Thursday, Janu
ary 0, 1876, for the purpose ef organising

New York, Dec. 39.—The Evening

Father Boohm, the oldest preacher ot the

Father Boehm presiding elder of Sckuyl-,

ry from Wilmington to Rlroudsburg, be
tween the .Susquehanna and Delaware.
For more than thirty year* Father Boebm
has been in the Now Jersey Conference
and as early as 1842 was on the list of tu
oernuinerary preachers.
