foremost insurance companies of this
country. We can recommend him to
the reader as worthy all confidence.

judgment, some merit. The knife is

The Philipsburg Journal has not reneh

mistake—the penalty remains just the

cense, it is only the license to sell that is
done away with, while the penalty remains
if you do sell.

From a Lebanon paper we see that
during the recent cold snap, shout* froxe

Lebanon, Feb. 8. —Twelve prison
era broke jail here last night, and es

vided further. That all licenses granted af
ter the first dav of January, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-thive shall
cease, determine and become void on the
first day of April, one thousand eight hun
dred and seventy-three, if the district for
which they shall be granted determine
against the granting of license; and the
treasurer of the proper county shall then
refund, to the holder of such license, the
moneys so paid therefor, fot which the said
treasurer shall be entitled to credit in his
account* with the Commonwealth.
Sic. 2. That in receiving and counting,
and in making returns of the rote* cast,
the inspectors and judges, and clerks of
said election, shall be governed by the
laws of this Commonwealth legulating
general election* ; and all |ienaltie# of saiu
election laws are hereby extended to, and
shall apply to the voters, inspectors.

SEC. 3. Whenever by the returns of elec
tions in any city or county aforesaid, it

liquors, or ai-y admixture thereof, in said
city or county, at any time thereafter, un
til at an election as abovf provided, a ma
jority shall vote in favor of license: Pro
vided, "Hint nothing contained in the pro
vision* of this act shall prevent the issuing*
ef license to druggists, ler the sale of li
quor* for medicinal purpose*.
