S. Baker, wife of a well known and re spected citizen, living a mile and a quar ter south of this place. A negro entered the house during the absence of Mr. Baker, and asked for some apples, and seeing Mrs. Baker was alone, drew a revolver and threatened her life if she did not submit to his vile designs.
