The shifting lever and the raising and low
ering levers are both at the driver's right side,
add with his right foot upon a pedal and hi■
left upon a foot-step ioi he has the power and
control of the whole machine, be can raise or
lower the platform from three to fourteen
inches, can throw the machine out of gear,
and regulate the rake so as to make the
sheaves large or small, and all this at the
same time and without retarding the motion
or speed of the machine.
