Somerset, Pa., Nov. 1.1. Last Sunday evening Fanner Andrew Mock and wife wen; silting in the kitchen reading. Two masked men suddenly entered the door. M r. Mock sprang to his feet and was struck a savage blow over the ' the head with a club in the hands of one of the intruders. Mock hurled a bucket partly filled with coal at the man who struck him, knocking him down. The second visitor struck Mock over the head with a club and he fell unconscious. Mrs. Mock leaped upon the hack of tier husband's assailant, and, tearing the mask fioni his face, began to heat him with all her might. A confeder ate, who was watching outside the house, rushed iii and tore Mrs. Mock from the back of tils companion.
