The arrival of the Vigilant steamer was a booii'to thedls trcsscd inhabitants, as many of them had about given up hojie of saving their pos sessions and many of them had removed their household effects and iossessions from their houses and had piled them upon the banks of the stream. The latest now s from the scene of I he conflagration on Wednes day evening says that the fire is under control and that owing to the help fur nished by the fire companies from Altoona, Hollidaysburg and Johnstown, the town that on Tuesday seein d to Ut doomed, is saved. Frugality is situated on tint Clearfield creek and has a Herniation of aUtut 1,000. It is not iucorHrated hut is partly in two townships. On the east side is Ueade and oil the west Is While township.
