A BtitniN thi: II isn V'i:ti; Twoinihk Bi'sh. Michael Hash and wife, of Harr township, are, unfortunately, the parents of children who persist in not living at home. These children, one a boy and the other a girl, and both, minors, have for some eonsid '. erable length of time made their residence with an elder brother, Luke by name, who is married and lives in that near rcigiihor hood. They give ill-treatiueiit and general negl vt as the cause of their apparent lack of filial a fleet ion. A writ of Wmms rnrpx.i for i the possession of the children was sued out by Michael Rush, tiie father, made returna ble at the Court House. Ebensbere, last Monday, before Associate Judge Thomas. At the time and piace indicated, a hearing was tiad, comprehending voluminous testi monv yiro and con, and pleas for the petition er by .1. C. Easlv, Esq., and for the respond ents" by Thomas R. N-anlan. Esq. The de cision of Judge Thomas, emphatically con curred in by a large number of listeners, was that tin- writ should be discharged at the cost of the petitioner, Michael Bush as aforesaid, and that t!ie two children, John and Teresa by name, should be at liberty to seek a home wherever to them should seem best. They started northward the same evening, in eom ; rany with Luke Rush, their brother, and his w ile, and the inference is therefore plain that the paternal mansion will not know them, or either of tl:em, for some time to come. Sfi.i.isr. Li'iioKs r,v the Bottle. Judge dunkin. of Kerry county, at a recent term of the county Court at New Illoomfield, cautioned innkeepers about the peril of sell ing liquor by the bottle over their liars. lie admonjshes landlords that they- had no right, to sell a bottleful of liquor to a sober man who would transfer it tw one in t'ie habit ot becoming intoxicated, or to minors, and he was bound, as much as a druggist who dis pensed poison at the call of a customer, to know who was to use the liquor. The pur chase of a quart of whiskey by a sober man was in itself a suspicions circumstance, and raised the fair inference that it was binr bought for some one to whom the landlord would not sell it. And he added, proof of its transfer to and usp by drun'-.ards and mi nors was sufficient cause for revoking the inkeener's license. Mr. Lynch mored the adoption of the Craw ford county system, whereupon Mr. Harris moved as an "amendment that one delegate from each district be elected to Comity Con ventions. These motions were debated at : considerable length by Messrs. Fleming, Oassidy, Rhey, King, Baumer, Hannan, Plunket.Shafler.andothers, when Mr.. Lvneli amended his motion that a committee of rive be appointed to srrbmit propsitiojis for ac tion thereon. The chair appointed as said committee, Messrs. Lynch. Humphreys, King, Fleming and Khey, and after a recess of half an hour said gentlemen reported as follows : That the Chairman submit the fallowing four propositions to the Democratic voters at the next delegate election, prepare the tickets to be voted, send them for distribution to the Committeeman in each district, who is to re turn the vote to the Chairman of the County Committee, whose duty it will be to an nounce the result to the next County Con vention, and the .system adopted shall govern the nomination thereafter : Firt Proposition The old system of two dele gate fr.jm rncli di'trict. The report of the committee was adopVd. On motion it was resolved that the Chair man call the delegate election for Saturday, June and the County Convention for Monday, June 21. 1'. A motion was made and adopted that del egates to the State Convention be elected, whereupon the names of David Humphreys. John Sommerville, L.D. Woodruff and D.C. Little were placed in nomination. The roll was called and Messrs. David Humphreys and Joht: Sommerville were declared elected. On motion of Mr. Baumer. said delegates were instructed to support Oon. Winfield S.
