One of the wit nesses who t,-'i.lid in the cas was an indi vidual named Scese, of Somerset county. Seese swore ibat the saw claimed to have been stolen had been the property of his mother, and had got into tho possession of Murphy in an entirely legitimate way. This testimony had ho much weight with the jury that they failed to agree on verdict, ami Murphy was, ordered under row bonds for another trial. It now turns out that Seeso and Murphy are cousins, and tht ailegat'on is made that the testimony of Seese was wo fnlly'warped in the important elen.ent of truth. The hitter i.-. the view taken of the matter by Mr. Knepper, at any rate, and last week Seese was arrested and in default of bail committed to jail to plead at next Court against the charge of perjury. The saw which Is the original cause of this liti gation may bo worth eight or ten dollars, but the bill of expense which it is piling up against the county will run largely info the , hundreds of dollars. Jacob Murphy, Noah's ' brother, was first, thought to have been the party who stole it, but a jury at last June Court said he didn't ; then came Noah's ex perience at December term, to be followed by another trial next week, and now Mr. Seese gets damagingly mixed up in the liti gation.
