Suhrie is spending the week in Emporium visiting his many friends, and transacting business. Mrs. Frank Shives chaperoned a party of young people to Ridgway on Tuesday to see the Ringling circus. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Lord, of Friend ship, N. Y., are the guests of their daughter, Mrs. Herbert day, of this place. Mrs. Samuel Heckman, of Gouders port, who spent the past week with her sister Mrs. M. H. Dodge, returned to her home Tuesday. Asa Murry, who has for several years been employed at Pennsy freight house has been appointed station master for Broad street. Mr. Shugart, of New Millport, Clear, field county, father of our townsman Dan'l Snugart, is visiting his son and family this week. Mr. A. S. Zaner, of Morgantown, W. Va., spent last Friday in Empori um, and while here made the PRESS a call. Mr. Zaner spent several days in Cameron visiting his mother. Messrs. .Teeter, Johnson, Miller and Hernguist left for Canada last Monday morning where they are employed in a lumber mill. Their families expect to follow later. Our old friend Frank G. Hoag, of Stering Run, accompanied by his son Dean and Frank Welsh visited in Em porium last Monday. Frank has been engaged in the brokerage business at Ridgway for some time and stopped off to consult friends. Mr. Lindley Beattie and wife and children, were guests ot the former's mother, Mrs. Belle Beattie, corner of Sixth and Maple street, over Sunday, Mrs Lindley Beattie, who is suffering with muscular rheumatism,left onMon day for a mineral spring resort, leav. ing her children here. Geo. D. Neidlinger, of Kidgway, came down on Saturday to visit friend** over Sunday and attend Masonic lodge. Mr. Neidlinger is in theemploy of the Kidgway Tool Co., and likes his work. F. Edsall, of Machias, N. Y., who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Julia Warner, and family at this place, for two weeks, returned to her home on Saturday. Harold Seger returned home from Pittsburg last week where he was the guest of his aunt, Mrs. H. J. Moore house. Mrs. Josephine Wood ley ac companied him home, and is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. Seger. ■ Wm. Wilder, whohas for several years been an industrious employee of Em porium Milling Company, left yester day, for Sistersville, West Va., where he enters the employ of the Humes Tor pedo Company. Rev. Nelson Cleaver, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. P. P. Strayer and son Linn, made a trip to Whittemore Hill, one day this week and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. O. Seaver, of Skyland Farm. Dr. R. P. Heilman left on Monday fcr Boston to attend the meeting of the American Medical Association, of which he is a member. When the Doctor returns home he expects to have his Xray machine in operation.
