Miss Claire Eddy, of Calder, visited friends in town last Friday and Satur day, guest of Miss Golda Lyons. Mr. Henry Auchu and Mr. Geo. P. Jones went to Washington and Dover, N. J., last Monday, on a business trip. Mr. Geo. Milbriclc Cooke, of Toledo, O. was the guest of Miss Ilachael Richardson, at Driftwood, over Sun day. Laßar and wife, who have been visiting former Emporium ites in Florida, left there on Tuesday for Havana, Cuba, to take in the sights. Mr. John D. M'Rae, of Omaha, Neb., one of the solid business men of that metropolis, visited in towu this week, to see his sister, Mrs. A. A. McDonald, who has been in poor health for some time.
