Judge Walker, we regret to inform, the PRESS readers, is not so well this week. Mrs.Mark Ellis was visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Swallow at Elbon, Pa. Mrs. M. M. Larrabee returned Satur day, from an extended visit with her son, Don. M. Larrabee and wife, at Philadelphia. Mrs. Pearsall, of Coudersport, who has been visiting her sons and daught ers in town for several weeks, return ed home on Monday. Should severe cold weather set in, without rain, our people will auffer for want of water. There has been very little rain during the past month. Mrs. E. C. Davison, and Miss Mary Davison, of Johnsonburg, visited in Emporium over Sunday, guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Thompson and family. R. M. C'rum, of Sinnamalioning, transacted business in Emporium Tues day evening and called at the PRESS office for a social chat. He will read the PRESS during 1905. J. K. Jordan and B. J. Collins spent three days hunting for deer near Medix Run, last week. They missed every deer in that section, including the one Stahly chased for four days. Mrs. J. K. Jordan and Miss Rena, returned home on Sunday from visit ing relatives at Lock Haven. Mrs. Anna Flemming, Mrs. Jodan's mother, returned home with them to spend the winter months here. Miss Nellie Hogan, of Emporium, was the guest of Conductor and Mrs. P. O'Connor oneday this week...B.W. Green, Esq., had business in town Saturday knd found time to make this office a pleasant call—Driftwood Ga zette. Master Earl Towner, of West Creek, visited in Emporium on Saturday and took his father, Delbert Towner. Sec'y of Shippen school board, in hand and showed hin the sights of town, wind ing up the day with a visit to PRESS office. Dell never had such a large time. Several young lady enthusiasts ac companied the foot ball team to Re novo Thanksgiving day and "rooted" for the boys. The rooting, however, was not successful, the home team being defeated by a score of 80. A re turn game, on the home Held, is being arranged for Saturday December .ird. Martin Cummings, of Emporium, was a Renovo visitor yesterday and a pleasant caller at this office. Mr. Cum mings intended going to Hyner yester day afternoon to look after his inter ests in the gas field but through some misunderstanding he missed the train. Ho went to that place this morning. We think Mr. Cummings has Other at tractions in that place besides the g:is fields. How about it, Martin?—Re novo Evening News. Mr. John Cummings visited at Re novo Tuesday. Judge Walker is felling much better this morning. Miss Myrtle Newton is spending the winter months at Niagara Falls. L. E. Runals, of Arcade, N. Y., is the guest of P. S. Coppersmith and family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richardson, Mrs. C. L. Laughton, Mrs. W. 11. Mitchell and several others, came up from Driftwood last evening to attend Episcopal church. Mr. Robt. Mr. Joseph Newton, in charge of the Emporium Furnace Supply Company's dry goods department, has returned to the store, after three weeks illness. Mr. Newton is one of the most com petent dry goods men in the country. Miss Jean McNarney, of Emporium, who was the guest of Celia (Reason Saturday and Sunday and who came down to attend the latter's birthday party, had the misfortune to fall on the stairs" and injure her back. Al though unable to take part in the games she took pleasure in seeing the others enjoy themselves and declared that she had a very nice time. Dr. Cor bett prescribed for her and Mrs. Glea son pave the injury a good application of liniment and the little Miss got up Sunday morning considerably improv ed. She was too heroic to admit just how badly she felt but her friends hope nothing serious will result.— Yesterday's Driftwood Gazette. Business Prosperous. Andrew Brady, who is conceeded to be one of the best iron masters in the state, returded from New York this morning. He reports the business situation very flattering. Chart for Plumstead. The Plumstead chart will open at Lloyd's next Monday morning. Lov ers of this like of entertainment will enjoy Mr. Plumstead, since he is said to be without a superior in the rolls which he essays. Bishop Whitehead Visits Emporium. Bishop Whitehead visited Emporium yesterday and conducted confirmation services in Emmanuel Church. A class of ten presented themselves for confirmation.
