Hudson, of Johnsonburg, visited her father and many friends in town several days last week and at tended the consecration services at Em ma nuel church. Daniel Webster and wife returned on Monday from visiting at Austin, Galeton and Wharton. While at Wharton, Mr. Chas. O. Miller and wife dove Mr. Webster and wife to a good trout stream. An exchange says that D. L. Gil liland, ofEllisburg, who has for some months been employed as machinist for the Cameron Lumber company, at Cameron, is suffering from a broken leg. Mr. Gilliland and a companion were indulging in a friendly scuffle, when in some unaccountable manner the accident ocurred. He is now at his home. Some one kept count upon the pagean ry of Fifth avenue, New York, as it glittered by on a Sunday afternoon, and in an honrhe recorded 71 dogs on the laps of finely dressed women, and in the same time 19 children, which calis forth thelfollowing comment from an exchange: The cold, hard, brutal truth of the matter is, that a whole lot of women are better fitted to bring up dogs than they are to bring up child ren.
