Accidental Shooting at Huntley. An exciting accident occurred at Huntley on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, in which Wayne Nelson, son of A. F. Nelson, aged about 12 years, was shot through the left foot with a 12-gauge shotgun. He was in company with Clyde JCollins, son of B. J. Col lins, another boy about the same age. They had been squirrel hunting in tho forenoon and were returning home when the accident happened. The boys were walking side by side on the railroad track west of Huntley depot when, in some mysterious manner, the gun was discharged—just how the boys do not know. The gun had been shot off by Will Nelson, a track workman, a few minutes previous, and neither of the boys remember reloading it, as one was carrying the gun and the other the cartridges. The wounded boy was carried to his home by Ray Smith and medical aid summoned. Dr Dailey, of Driftwoad, dressed the wound and advised the call of a surgeon, deeming amputation necessary. Dr. Smith, of Emporium, and Dr. Corbett, of Drift wood, were wired, but 011 account of their absence the boy was taken to the Williamsport Hospital on the 10:15 p. m. train. On Sunday at 11 o'clock the foot was amputated. The parents of both have the sympathy of the entire community, as the boys were firm friends. Letter to Alex. AlcDougall. Emporium, Pa. Dear Sir: Porterhouse, so much; neck, so much; all the way between. Just so with paint. Devoe lead and zinc is the porterhouse. Nobody wants the neck; the between, some say, it. good enough for them. But Devoe costs less, not more, than between. Lead and oil is between; it is the old-fashioned paint. But zinc has come in. Zinc toughens white lead. Devoe lead and zinc is the paint. If you paint in three years you do it for looks. Devoe does not wear out in three years. Yours truly, 7 F. W. DEVOE & Co. THE CHOIR CELESTIAL.— There is al ways a demand for a great sacred song. Two of the un terrified started out with the beer and got as far as the Italian camp, about a mile, when they concluded to tap and com mence distributing, which they did in so liberal a manner that they got no farther with it.
