8 PHESS. Additional Local News. Where Work is Plenty. The Pittsburg Times says: Large contracting firms in Pittsburg are just now finding labor scarcer than at any time within their memory, and con siderable trouble has been encountered in getting enough men to do work absolutely necessary. Higher prices are being paid than for several years past, but notwithstanding this, it has been found almost impossible to get all the men needed. Many men ap pear to be idle, but almost all of them refuse to accept employment. The trouble is thought to be due to the unusual amount of work going on throughout the country, and the fact that all the good men are employed.
