BLOOMSBURG CHORAL SOCIETY
Will Sing Cantata. "Daughter oUairui," In
Normal Auditorium.
A musical event of some note will
take place next Monday evening
when the Bloomsburg choral society
will sing Stainer's beautiful can
tata, "Daughter of Jairus."
A chorus of sixty of Blooms
burg's best vocal talent is rehears
ing for the cantata, in addition to
which there will be an orchestral
accompaniment of 20 pieces. The
cantata requires only three soloists
and these parts will be sung by
William T. Gould, Williamsporfs
best tenor, John R. Ileim. baritone,
of Williamsport and Miss Rosa
Vollrath, soprano, of Bloomsburg.
The cantata is being directed by
Blootnsburg's talented young music
ian. Charles O. Skeer. All the
profits of the entertainment are to
be donated to the Bloomsburg pub
lic library.
FIREMEN AT CHURCH.
The Bloomsburg Fire Depart
ment attended services at the Bap
tist church on Sunday evening.
That is 46 members out of 400 or
more, were there. Rev. G. R.
Smith preached an excellent ser
mon. It has been the custom for some
years for the firemen to go to
church once a year in a body, usu
ally by special invitation of one of
the churches.
The invitation this year came
from the Baptist church, but only
about one tenth of the department
responded. The firemen are evi
dently better at getting to fires
than going tb church. With this
sort of appreciation the other
churches will probably be a little
slow in inviting them hereafter.

about his clothes after he has them on. lie doesn't want
the seams to rip when he slides down the banisters,
plays leap frog or jumps hitching posts.
Our Spring and Summer Garments for the Boy's
wear are ready and we particularly request Mothers to
come to see how well we can dress the Boy in a good
looking, stylish, durable Suit at a moderate cost.
We've every cut ot Suit that's right and our prices
run, in sizes from 8 to 15 years, something like this
$3.00, 1.00, 5.00, 6.00 to 10.00.
