The Bloomsburg Fire Depart ment attended services at the Bap tist church on Sunday evening. That is 46 members out of 400 or more, were there. Rev. G. R. Smith preached an excellent ser mon. It has been the custom for some years for the firemen to go to church once a year in a body, usu ally by special invitation of one of the churches. The invitation this year came from the Baptist church, but only about one tenth of the department responded. The firemen are evi dently better at getting to fires than going tb church. With this sort of appreciation the other churches will probably be a little slow in inviting them hereafter. SWIFT JUSTICE.
