Swallow has tendered his resignation as superin tendent of the Methodist Book Rooms in Harrisburg, to take eftect at the close of the conference year, in February. Dr. Swallow gives as hij reasons for his resignation the fact that he is 66 years of age and is tired of the exacting routine of the establishment. He says he pre fers to be free to make speeches when called upon, to deliver lect ures and do as he likes generally. John W. Vogel's big minstrels gave good satisfaction to a capacity audience iu the Opera House Mon day evening. Mr. Vogel regretted very much that he could not put up the "Millionaire Outing" scene in the first part, owing to the fact that the grooves were too low. The setting however, was very nice, and the show thoroughly enjoyable. The band and double symphony orchestra were the finest that has visited Bloomsburg with a theatrical organization in many years.
