continued until February 20, 1893
when Mr. Ehvell bought Mr. Bit

The Danville Intelligeneir last
week, under a caption of "Looking
Backward" printed a number of
little items, or entries from an old
diary of D. R. Magiil of that town.
One of the notes reads: "On Jan
uary 18, iS85, "Wild Bill" on a
wager, ran from Exchange Hotel,
Bloomsburg, to the City Hotel, in
this place, in one hour and 19 min
utes. The ground was covered
with snow to the depth of nearly
four inches. After a rest of 10 min
utes "Wild Bill" ran back to
Bloomsburg, covering the distance
home in one hour and 30 minutes."
The event will no doubt be recalled
by many of our people as it created
qa'tc a little excitement at the time.
