"The Grandmother's Story," by Mrs. J. K Hudson, is prefaced bv these woids : "Thi story of Mormon life nnd experience is a true one. The incidents were told the wr'ter." But she ha s concealed names nnd places and wholly altered the episodes. The "Grandmother" was originally a Philadel phia Quaker. Mrs. Hudson's scries on Mormon life legan in January. "M. Galleria," a steamer tale, by Jessie Van Zile Belden, is a love story that is like ly to find an echo in many hearts. A paper by the daughter of the Dean of Westminster, Mrs. A. Murray Smith, about "Two Noble Dames Buried in Westminster Abbey," is of special interest to the fair sex. "Where Washington! Still Lives," by Rufus Rockwell Wilson, refers not to the heavenly home ot the great general, but to Freder icksburg, Va , the scene of his youthful cx plo'ts. "A Day at I'rato" is by Harriet Monroe, who is pleasantly remembered as "'ie author of the Commemoration Ode at the Wotld's Columbian Exposition ; and "The Canadian Tommy Atkins," by Per cie W Hart, gives some timely points on a subject in which everybody is now interested.
