Howard Purcel of Millville, was struck on the head by a box falling from a wagon, which he was un loading in front of Jacob Keller's notion store Ihursday. The box was quite large and came down on the young man with considerable force. He was in an unconscious condition for some time. On Saturday night of next week, the Orangeville Literary Society will present in Academy Hall, the popular drama, "The Deacon'sTii bulations," in which fun and pathos are happily mingled together. The Bloomsburg Wheelmen went to Willianisport Friday night and played basket ball with the Y. M. C. A. team of that place. Jamison City is going to have a great boom shortly. Repairs are being made at the large tannery and it is the intention to have the big plant in full operation in a month or so. This will give employment to more than one hundred meu. Beside this, there are other evidences of coming prosperity. The residents are all happy over the promise of better times. The chaps who wrote up this town for publication in the Gazette last week are swindlers and should be watched carefully by all pub lishers. They claim to be brothers. Denman Thompson's latest play, "The Sunshine of Paradise Alley," which was to be the dramatic event of the season held forth at the Opera House Tuesday evening. It was advertised that it would be presented on the same magnificent scale of grandeur as it was in the larger cities with all of its bewil dering and sensational and elegant electrical effects. But it wasn t, and the result was a great disappoint ment to the large audience. Aside from the singing of the Ladies Verdi Quartette, which was very good, the performance was decidedly wean, it lias been pronounced a good contrast picture of the ' 'Old Homestead, but we tailed to see it.
