The bladder was created for one purpose, namely, a receptacle for the urine, and as such it is not liable to any form of disease except by one of two ways. The first way is from im perfect action of the kidneys. The second way is from careless local treat ment cf other diseases. CHIEF CAUSE. Unhealthy urine from unhealthy kidneys is the chief cause of bladder troubles. So the womb, like the blad der, was created for one purpose, and if not doctored too much is not liable to weakness or diseases, except in rare cases. It is situated back of and very close to the bladder, therefore any pain, disease or inconvenience mani fested in the kidneys, back, bladder or urinary passage is often, by mistake, attributed to female weakness or womb trouble of some sort. The error is easily made and may be as easily avoided. To find out correctly, set your urine aside for twenty four hours; a sediment or settling indicates kidney or bladder trouble. The mild and ex traordinary effect of Dr. Kilmer's Swamp Root, the great kidney, and bladder remedy, is soon realized. If you need a medicine you should have the best. At druggists fifty cents and one dollar. You may have a sample bottle and pamphlet, both sent free by mail. Mention THE COLUMBIAN and send your address to Dr. Kilmer & Co., Binghamton, N. Y. The murder of little Percy Lock yar by 14 year old Sam Henderson in Philadelphia on Monday is another example of liovv boys profit by everlastingly reading dime novels. Henderson killed his victim by stabbing him and afterward put ting his body in the creek, with two heavy stones upon it. Another youngster named Willie Addison would probably have suffered the same fate, had he not run away. He claims Henderson had asked him to come back and he would show him how the Indians killed their victims. It is thought the young murderer is out of his mind, although he manifests no insanity in an ordinary conversation. Chicken and Waffle Supper. A chicken and waffle supper will be given at the M. E. Where are the Big Pennies- What becomes of the cents ? Of 119,900,000 old copper cents which were sent out from the mint only 900,000 have ever been accounted for and only now and then is a stray one of the remaining 119,900,000 seen in circulation. Of the 4,500,000 bronze two cent pieces sent out only 1,500,- 000 ever found their way back, leav ing 3,000,000 to be accounted for, and there are an equal number of nickel three cent pieces somewhere in this country, though it is very rarely one is seen. Of the 800,000 half cents not one has ever been returned to the mint. A few of this denomina tion may be seen in the hands of coin collectors, but the whereabouts of the rest is a mystery. DM you maka your Grain-O this way ? Here are the latest directions : Use one teaspoonful of Grain-O to two cups of cold water. Mix the Grain-O with half an egg aul add the water. (Be sure to measure.) After the water gets to the boiling point let boil for fifteen to twenty minutes. Use cream and sugar to suit the taste. If you have not cream use hot milk. A lady said : "The first time I drank Grain O I did not like it, but after using it for ten days and forming the habit, nothing would induce me to go back to coffee." This is the ex perience of all. If you will follow directions, measure it every time and make it the same, and try it for ten days, you will not go back to coffee. Goal Found at Elysburg. On the farm of James Vought, about one-half mile north of Elysburg, North umberland county an excellent out cropping of a vein of anthracite coal has been discovered and Friday morn ing a gang of about fifteen men were put to work on the same to develop it and find out if it will prove of sufficient thickness to work. The specimens taken from the vein are of good quality. It is the purpose of Mr. Vought if the vein is found in suffici ent thickness and quality to open the workings and erect a small breaker upon the spot.— Ashland Local. Sales. JAN. 22.
