W. Marks, of that city tor $15,000. G. V. Enterline and O. B. Mellick took a fishing trip up the creek last week. They had very good luck, and made quite a record, bringing back with them 153 nice trout. The strong base ball team of Lafayette College, will dispute honors with the Normal team here on Tues day, May 18th. A great game may be expected. A small son of Charles Moore, who resides on Iron Street died at an early hourpn Monday morning. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, and interment made at Van Camp. A subscription book has been open ed to raise funds with which to pro cure a new org'.n tor the Episcopal Church. It will require about $2500, and it is hoped that this sum can be raised speedily so that an order can be given for the organ this summer. It will take several months to build it. DIED FAR FROM HOME. Information was received by cable a few weeks ago, that Henry B. Bel field, son of lv. Broom Belfield of Philadelphia, and brother of Mrs. Samuel Wigfalf of this town, had died at Limones, Ecquador, South Amer ica on April 6th, of tropical dia. hea. He was a member ot an engineer corps of a New York Gold Mining Co. Efforts were made to proci're the body and have it brought to this country, but the quarantine laws for bid this within two years. Mr. liel field was 31 years ot age. His death is a severe affliction to his family, and they have the sympathy of their many friends in this peculiarly sad bereavement. Cope, whq recently arrived in Pittston from Middletown, N Y., to accept a position as conductor on the Delaware, Lackawanna fit Western Railroad, has mysteriously disappear ed. He leaves a heart-broken wife and three small children to battle for a livelihood. After his disappearance his wife found the followng : "Dear Wife : I will bid you good bye.
