It is no doubt the des'gn if not the
effect of the Coxey Army of the un
employed to intimidate those having
tariff legislation in hand. The politi
cal party has not yet come into power
that can reasonably hope to equitably
reform the tariff and survive the on
slaught of intimidation, fair and foul.
It has been the honest effort of the
Democratic party to fulfil its reform
promises to the people that lias closed
the works of the plutocrat in the face
of the Democrat and the laborer.
THE VETO.
In justification of the President's
veto of the Bland seigniorage bill, that
has taken so much of the time and at
tention of Congress, it is objected to
as unfortunate in its construction and
dangerous in its results It is claimed
that nearly every sentence of the bill
invites controversy and presents un
certainty as to its meaning or intent.
The very ambiguity of the ist and 2d
sections of the bill stood in the way of
the President's signature. When our
statesmen find it necessa-y to clothe
their laws in such ambiguous terms as
to admit of several constructions, it
seems to us that a velo of such bills,
whether important or not, is the prop
er thing to do.
Hood's Never Fails
A Business Man's Experience -Cured
of Rheumatism.
Mr. T. IF. Ilaus,
A well known business man In Pittsburgh, Pa.,
writes the letter given below. Mr. Haus Is gen
eral agent for the Maine granite quarries and
eontractor for cemetery and building work, hav
ing an office at No. "08 Pcnn Avenue.
"C. I. Hood & Co., Lowell, Mass.:
" Gentlemen We have a very high opinion of
both Hood's Sarsnpurllla and Hood's Pills at
our bouse and wit h good reason. 1 have taken al
most every remedy known for rheumatism, and
feel Justified In saying that Hood's Sarsaparilla
is the only one that does me any good. I must
admit I have not taken it steadily, but only
when the pains of rheumatism came on.
Hood's Sarsaparilla has
Always Given Me Relief,
and like many others, as soon as I am well I

took. TV are never without Hood's Harsapa
rtlla and Hood's Fills In our house, and have
recommended both to dozous of friends. When
any of my family are takon slek, no matter with
what disease, the first thing we do is to give
A Dose of Hood's Pills
and follow It up with Hood's Sarsaparilla. I
might write several pages In praise of tills ex
cellent medicine, but think I have said enough
to convince." T. W. Haiti, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Hood's Pills are prompt and efficient, yet
easy In action. Bold by all druggists. 20o.
