There will be several more, no doubt. It's just as easy to try One Minute Cough Cure as any thing else. Its easier cure a severe cold or cough with it. Let your next purchase for a cough be One Minute Cough Cure. Better medicine ; better result ; better try it. A'. S. Rishton, Druggist. Joseph Grimes operates a shoe shop at Sliamokin. A bank accepted the money.and Joseph is seventy-five cents in pocket. He is looking around for other suckers. A generation ago there was hardly a silk mill that was not troubled with waste material. Manufacturers saw the rise of this heap with annoyance and took it as a favor if anyone would cart it away for fertilizer. An English inventor set about inventing machin ery to utilize it. To day, as the result of his foresight and genius, 5,000 people are employed in making the finest silk plushes, ribbons and velvets from the refuse piles of silk mills, and the in ventor has grown rich The term "namby pamby," which has come to be applied to a person of vacillating character, as well as to weak literary productions, was origina ted by the poet Pope. He applied it to some puerile verses that had been written by an obscure poet one Am brose Phillips addressed to the chil dren of a peer. The first half of the term is meant as a baby way of pro nouncing Amby, a pet nickname for Ambrose, and the second half is sim ply a jingling word to fit it. The name of "Boniface," as applied to hotel keeper?, is derived from a devout and hospitable man whom Saint Augustine created a saint. Sub sequently he became the patron saint of Germany, and it was in that coun try, according to some writers, what hotel or tavernkeepers, as well as those among private citizens who were hos pitable, and who at times kept "open house," as the saying is, were dubbed Bonifaces, February "Book Ntvs" (Philadel phia) ':omes promptly with the latest word of the month's doings in the literary world. For quite a louj time fashions have undergone a slow change, practically remaining in a stationary state with slight modifications. This season, however, a decided change is shown in skirts, in the way of draperies. The old time draped effects are more or less revived with the addition of many pretty and artistic touches, in accor dance with modern taste, or with adaptations from historical sources. The underskirt, however, will retain its present flaring effect. To many people, the announcement of this coming style is viewed with some ap prehension, as it implies much practi cal knowledge for the making up of the new skirts. The best way, how ever to find the needed information and all the leading models of the coming season, is to subscribe to one or two Fashion Journals. The Mc Dowell Magazines, which alwa)S maintain a high degree of excellence in this respect, will perfectly fill the wants of everyone on this subject. We notice also that, for the further accommodation of their customers, these Magazines contain in the form of coupons, at an exceedingly moder ate price, designs of new skirts and other most novel styles. The patteins and paper models issued by the house of McDowell & Co., are widely known and justly praised for their accuracy, and their artistic, as well as practical excellence. "La Mode de Paris," and "Paris Album of Fashion" cost only $3 .50 a year or 35 cents per copy. "The French Dressmaker" is $3.00 per annum or 30 cents a copy. "La Mode,"which is the best fami'y fashion Magazine in existence, is offer ed to subscribers at the exceedingly low price of $1.50 a year or 15 cents a copy. If you are unable to procure any ot these publications from your news dealer do not take a substitute from him but apply by mail to Messrs. A. McDowell & Co., 20 West 14th Street, New York. No better aid to digestion, No better cure for dyspepsia, Nothing more reliable for biliousness and constipation than DeWitt's Little Early Risers, the famous little pills. W. S. Rishton, Druggist. Probably the most elaborate and expensive melo dramatic production of the present season is "The Dia mond Breaker." Scott Marble's latest work. The play is entirely American and introduces character distinctively new to the stage, and thus the author gives to the public a refreshing de parture from the beaten paths. There are two mechanical effects in the "Diamond Breaker" that have created the greatest sensation of years. In one act the hero is knocked insensi ble and thrown headfirst into a chute descending at a rapid speed to two monster iron cylinders that crush ten thousand pounds of coal a minute. Nothing in stage realism has ever equaled this scene, and it excites the wildest enthusiasm. Two car-loads of beautiful scenery, painted by Reed of the Fifth Avenue Theatre, New York, is another feature, and the cast is exceptionally strong, being com posed of artists of reputation and high standing, and including Etelka War dell, M. L. Alsop, John C. Fenton, Frank Binghurst, Eddie Magee, Julia West and others equally well known in the amusement world. Opera House, Monday, March 5th. It not only telieves; it does more it cures.
