An Awful Ravenga, A WOMAN FOLLOWS THE MAN WHO BE TRAYS HER ACROSS THE OCEAN AND POISONS HIM. A woman will love a man so de votedly that giving up everything for him is no sacrifice, but if that love is scorned, and that love is scorned, and her trust and faith laughed at, it turns to a hale ns deadly as that attributed to the fiery blooded Corsican. Per hips Gena Sepal, a handsome young Italian did not think of this when he won and then scorned the love of Anna Villcla, in sunny Italy, but he now lies cold in death, a victim of his own wrongdoing and her revenge. Two or three years ago Sepal, then x jeweler's assistant in Naples, met Anna Villcla and won her love under promise of marriage. SKe gave up everything for him but lie pos'poned the wedding from time to time, until one day she gave birth to a child, and when fhe appealed to him to make his promises good he laughed, thrust her from him and went away. Hut hers was a violent nature, and she swore that he should never live to make love to another woman. Fright ened by these threats, Sepal fled to America, and after a short time in New York came on to Luzerne county where he obtained work as night watchman at a mine in Exeter. A few days ago a strangq woman arrived at the mining village and in quired for Sepal. Friends of his point ed out his boarding house. The wo man went there but Sepal being asleep, she asked his landlady not to disturb him and inquired minutely in to his habits, where he worked and what hours he was on duty. She then left, asking the landlady to keep her visit a secret. The landlady, how ever, told Sepal when he awoke, and the fellow at once divined that the strange visitor was the girl he had wronged. lie went to work that night as usual, taking his lunch in a tin bucket. At 4 o'clock in the morn ing he returned deathly sick. He ex plained that directly after eating his lunch he began to suffer with severe pains in his stomach and made his way home as best he could. A physician was sent for but before he arrived the unfortunate man was dead. The physician said there was every sympton of poisoning. Friends of the man now believe that the wo uian watched him go to work, follow ed, and seizing a favorable opportunity when he was making his rounds poi soned his food. She has disappeared inJ cannot be found. $103 Reward, $100. Although no article in common use is more impaired by the introduction of impurities than whiskey, there is nothing which is more generally adul terated. Whiskey is "doctored" in one way and another by various pro cesses and with different ingredients until it loses its identity and instead of being a valuable remedial agent be comes a dangerous decoction of drugs. Many brands of whiskey with high sounding names are actually unfit for use owing to their adulteration. On account ot the prevalence of adulteration in whiskey it is well to know that they are pure whiske)s. The brands distilled by Messrs. G. W. Meredith & Co, East Liverpool, Ohio, and Pittsburg, may be depend ed upon as absolutely pure. Meri dith's Diamond Club Pure Rye is one of the leading medicinal and family whiskeys in the country. It is recom mended by chemists and physicians for its purity. This, whiskey has taken the highest award' at Chicago, for being mild, pleasant, palatable, and above everything else absolutely pure. Another brand is Meredith's Pure Malt, which has the largest sa'c of any h'ijh grade malt whiskey in the mar ket. U is guaranteed absolutely pure and is particularly efficacious for bron chial and pulmonary diseases. Mere "Un s goods are always reliable and pure. Chester Times. .
