"While the American people should every day remember with praise and thanksgiving the Divine goodness and mercy which have followed them sin:e their beginning as a nation, it is fitting that one day in each year should be especially devoted to the contempla tion of the blessing we have received from the hand of God, and to the grateful acknowledgement of His lov ing kindness. "Therefore, I, Grover Cleveland, President os the United States, do hereby designate and set apart Thurs day, the 30th day of the present month of November, as a day of thanksgiving and praise to be kept and observed by all the people of our land. On that day let us forego our ordinary work and employments, and assemble in our usual places of worship, where we may recall all that God lias done for us, and where from grateful hearts our united tribute of praise and song may reach the Throne of Grace. Let the reunion of kin dred and the social meeting of friends lend cheer and enjoyment to the day, and let generous gifts of charity for the relief of the poor and needy prove the sincerity of our thanksgiving. "Witness ray hand and seal of the ; United Slates, which I have caused to be hereto affixed. The creat success of the Roval Baking Powder is due to the extreme care exercisea Dy its manutactures to make it entirely pure, uniform in' quality, ana ot the highest in leaven ing power. All the scientific know ledge, care and skill attained by a twenty years' practical experience are contributed toward this end, and no pharmaceutical preparation can be dispensed with a greater accuracy, pre cision and exactness. Every article used is absolutely pure. A number of chemists are employed to test the strength of each ingredient, so that its O O r " " exact power and effect in combination witn its co-ingredients is definitely known. Nothing is trusted to chance, and no person is employed in the preparation ot the materials used or the manufacture of the power, who is not an expert in his particular branch of the business. As a consequence, the Royal Baking Powder is of the highest grade of excellence always pure, wholesome and uniform in quality. Each box is exactly like every other, and will retain its powers and produce the same and the highest leavening ef fect in any climate, at any time. The Government Chemists after having analyzed all the principal brands in the market, in their reports placed the Royal Baking Powder at the head of the list for strength, purity and whole sorneness. and thousands of tests all over the country have further demon strated the tact that its qualities are in every respect, unrivaled. Mr. Richard limns, the well-known Druggist, 207 McUill St., Montreal, P. Q., says: I have sold Aycr's Family Meiliolnes for 40 years, and linvc heard nothing but good said of tbem. I know ot many .Wonderful Cures performed by Aycr's Sarsaparilla, one in particular being that of a little daughter of a Church of England minis ter. The child was literally covered from bead to foot with n red and ex ceedingly troulilesomo rush, from which she hud sufTered for two or three years, in spite of the best medical treatment available. Her father was in great distress about the case, and, at my recommendation, at lust began to ad minister Aycr's Saraaparillu, two bot tles of which effected a complete cure, much to her relief and her father's delight. I am sure, were he here to-day, he would testify in the strongest terms as to the merits of Ayer's Sarsaparilla Prepared by Dr. J. C. Ayer k Co., Lowsll, Kan. The name is welded to the locality, and no mat ter to what uses the beautiful nlace and valuable plant may be put, it will still be Irondale to all our people. Ut the 5000 or 0000 people in Bloomsburg to day, very few were here when the furnaces now beine de molished, were erected. According to Freeze's "History of Columbia County," thev were built in 1844, the company having been incorporated in 1839. Certainly the plant and real estate of "Irondale" is the cheapest property whicn has been sold in Bloomsburg for a quarter of a century.
