Secretary Edge, of the state board of agriculture, has prepared the follow ing crop report : The crops of corn and late potatoes are sufficiently advanced to show con clusively that the recent drought will greatly reduce their yieldings. As a natural consequence corn for future delivery will advance in price and the price of potatoes must necessarily go higher. The same cause has de creased the yield and size of apples and peaches, but will increase their flavor and quality. The crop of black berries was practically cut down seventy-five per cent., and the few that were picked were inferior in quality and size. In many places the grape crop has been very much decreased, but the unusual number of bunches set on the vines may, with good weath er, make up for the deficiency. "In Southeastern Pennsylvania dairy men have been compelled to feed hay and grain to their cows to make up for the gTeat decrease in the amount of pasture. Many of them have con tracts calling for a definite number of quarts of milk per day, and the supply must be kept up either by purchase or by increased feed. The general feel ing among stockmen is that feed and provender of all kinds must necessarily advance as Winter approaches, and that hay especially will command better prices before Spring."
