The above named placo Is a beautiful
village ot about GOO inhabitants, situated
on tho North Branch of 'tho Susquehanna.
It is a desirablo place to live on account of
the healthy atmosphere surrounding it, as
well as its proximity to the prosperous
ity of Bloomsburg.
In comparison with other villages of tho
same bIzo there has been little sickness and
tew deaths during the last six months
It also compares with other places of its
size in respect to tho ago of Its inhabl
tants. There being not a few of its cill
zens well advanced in yeirs.. Acd tho
children and youth are as fair and ruddy
as you can find them anywhere. Tho
people here arc proud of their homes,
which Is manifest by the spirit ot repairing
and painting their houses that actuated
them during tho past several weeks. There
is however, roon for improvement in this
respect, and, according as they become
able, Eipy will no doubt enhanco its ap
pearance. Owing to low rents and the facilities for
securing fuel at greatly reduced rates, as
well as many other things needful in tho
home, this village affords great advantages
to persons who cm find employment in
neighboring towns and cities. The Elec
tric Railway from tho city of Bloomsburg
to this placo and Afton, now under con.
sidcration, will no doubt, prove a great
benefit to residents of theso beau iful vil
lages, In bringing families hither which
otherwise would not think ot such move,
mcnt.
Espy Is, at present, blessed with good
schools and wide-awake churches. The
lay schools aro well attended, and tho
teachers arc doing thorough work. It Is
to bo hoped that the patrons will not fall
to visit theso schools, and by bo doing cn.

The Sabbath Schools are also aggressive,

A Distressing Accident. Last Tuesday

was very unfortunate, getting his leg both
broken and out ot placo. The accident oc
curred during tho raising ot his son

against thu tree, pushing with all his might
and tho trco yielding to;his efforts, ho im

low the knee. Nothing held it but a little
skin, and his leg dangled about as they
carried him to the house. Anyone, never
having seen the scar, nor knowing of the

Tho rush ot agents for Mary A. Liver-

is Mrs. Llvermore's own account of her
four years' personal work and experiences
as a nurse in hospitals, camps and on tho

the most profound pathos, and the Christian
