Marion Township Lad Shot While
‘Hunting Rabbits.
Hoy Harter, the fourteen old son
of Mr. and Mrs. George Harter, of
Jacksonville, was shot under the left
arm by his seventeen year old broth-
er Victor, while out hunting rabbits
on Tuesday morning and while at
first his condition was considered crit-
ical he is still living at this writing
and his physician now has hopes of
his recovery.
The two brothers with George
Diehl, of Sunbury, went out for rab-
bits on the Clarence Yearick farm.
They raised a rabbit in a gully and
it ran right in the direction of Hoy
Harter.” His brother Victor had a
good shot at the rabbit and drew up
his gun but seeing his brother in range
did not intend to shoot, but in some
way his gun was discharged, he avers,
and the entire load of No. 6 shot
struck his brother in the left side be-
neath the shoulder.
Help was at once summoned and a
physician sent for who gave him all
attention possible.

old homestead about two miles east
of Boalsburg. He left the house
about 10:15 o’clock Sunday morning
and went out to the barn. Fifteen
minutes later his grandson, Harry
Kuhn, went into the cow stable and
found his aged grandfather hanging
from an overhead beam. Life was al-
ready extinct.
Mr. Kuhn was a son of Mr. and
Mrs. Peter Kuhn and was born in
Harris township on December 7th,
1832, hence was aged 84 years, 10
months and 27 days. His entire life
was spent in the vicinity of his birth,
where he was known as an honorable
and respectable citizen. He was a
lifelong member of the Reformed
church. His wife, who prior to her
marriage was Miss Levina Shuey,
died thirty years ago, but surviving
him are two children, Charles H.
Kuhn, with whom he made his home,
and Mrs. S. E. Weber, of Boalsburg.
He also leaves two brothers, David,
of Wisconsin, and William, of Centre
Hall.

Penn State’s Service Flag.
A large service flag, bearing more
than 500 stars, is being made at The .
Pennsylvania State College in honor’

members who have answered the call
to arms. Each man who has left the
institution for war service will be
represented by a star and his name
will be embroidered on it.
Penn State's honor roll will be sim-
ilar in design to the service flags now
displayed at thousands of homes.
When completed, the emblem, which
is the largest in the country, will be
